Monsanto's Net Income Rises 19%
It has been said that a strong and early seed-selling season has increased fiscal second quarter net income by 19%. The company has raised its earnings for the full year this year! Monsanto has earned $1.21 billion or $2.24 a share in the quarter that had tended in February! The Revenue rose 15 percent, to $4.75 billion from $4.13 billion. Sales on corn seed and traits has raised 17% to $2.82 billion. Soybean seed and trait sales, its next largest segment, rose 12 percent to $689 million. The Department of Agriculture said last week that corn supplies as of March 1 were down 6 percent from a year earlier meaning that supplies will remain tight and prices high in near term
