Cracking Coconuts On Your Head?

There are so many different Hindu ceremonies that no one knows about or is familiar with. There is this one that has to do with cracking Coconuts on peoples head one after another to say thanks for answering their prayers, but you must be 18 years or older for you to be able to let them crack a coconut on your skull. National Geographic says that there is a bit of history behind this particular ceremony. One of the locals told the reporters that “When the British were trying to draw a railway line against the wishes of the villagers here, they found big stones just like coconuts, beneath the ground. They sarcastically told villagers that if they could break these stones with their heads, they would change the course of the railway line. The villagers broke the stones and the line was shifted.”

I think that this is crazy to crack a coconut on someones skull, some one can get injured... But every culture has its own different type of ceremonies... I just think that this is crazy!!!
